Have you heard that Christianity is a full contact team engagement? Going deeper with God is a challenging process! Jesus said, “if you want to follow me, you have to learn from me!” God uses all kinds of life’s challenging moments to train our hearts to learn how to “let go and let God!”
Pat is a member of our Woodbury Hill Cities Group. Here is a snapshot of his process:
“All of my life, I’ve never been a person to control others, however I am reluctant to relinquish control of me. More specific, allowing someone or some procedure that was going to do anything inside my heart, scared me beyond belief!
After talking to Paul, one of our group members, he suggested to share my situation with everyone in our Hill Cities group. We then prayed about this. During the prayer, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and knew God was definitely there. I still had two full days to worry about the procedure.
Over the two days, emails with prayers were coming in and the afternoon before surgery. Jeff Hagen called and prayed with me. It was that evening that a calmness would come over me. I came to realize that if God wanted to call me home, I had no choice and if He wanted me to be healed, he would see me through that as well.”
To summarize all of this, letting go and letting God was monumental for me and for the first time in my life, the proof is there. And, not only letting go and letting God, but knowing that I have so much more growth with Him. A larger journey that He has given to me with Him and return has opened my heart for Him even more!
